The humble start of Uitvlugt Bee Farm originated in 2009 in the picturesque Politsi Valley next to Magoebaskloof in the greater area, fondly known as the 'Land of the Silver Mist'. It was the passion and brainchild of Izak Claasen Jnr while he was studying at Stellenbosch University. Izak's parents, Sakkie and Betsie Claasen, managed the beekeeping responsibilities with dedication while Izak was busy studying.
In 2015, Uitvlugt Bee Farm expanded to a family business after Izak got married to Nadia, who shared his passion and love in beekeeping. In 2017, the farm acquired the beekeeping assets of the late Dawid Nel and in 2018 the beekeeping assets of Hendrik Janse van Rensburg. These assets enabled us to expand in 2019 in supplying 4500 hives for pollination services to farmers cultivating a range of crops, including butternut, watermelon, avocado, mango, macadamia and blueberry.
